The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) and the China Disabled Persons' Federation have jointly released seven typical cases on protecting the legitimate rights and interests of minors with disabilities.
The cases involve the four major procuratorial functions of criminal, civil, administrative and public interest litigation. They target the real-life challenges and difficulties encountered by minors with disabilities in the protection of their rights, including traffic accident compensation, protection of the right to education, rescue of abandoned minors and claims for compensation for medical injuries. The move aims to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of minors with disabilities through high-quality and efficient performance of procuratorial duties.
These cases demonstrate collaboration by multiple departments to establish a comprehensive safety net, while focusing not only on solving immediate problems, but also on the long-term development of minors with disabilities.
An official from the SPP's Minors Procuratorial Department said that protecting the rights and interests of minors with disabilities is a systematic project. Procuratorial organs will always stick to the principle of handling every case with high quality and efficiency, and work with all relevant departments to provide robust legal safeguards for the healthy growth of minors with disabilities.
