Qinhuangdao in North China's Hebei province launched a month-long disability assistance campaign on Wednesday, offering services ranging from job recruitment to psychological counseling as part of efforts to promote equal rights and social integration.
The "Light Up the Stars, Walk with Love" event, themed "Ensuring Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities and Promoting Inclusive Development", commenced ahead of the 36th National Disability Day on May 17.

On-site, a service fair featured booths for baked good made by people with disabilities, handicraft sales, legal advice, mental health experiences and free medical checkups.
In addition, volunteers led a walking activity and screened inspirational films. Organizers described the event as one-stop, doorstep care, bringing policy warmth and social support to disabled residents so they can share in development gains and lead fulfilling lives.
