
The 2025 China Media Group Sports Glory Night is held on Jan 5.
On Jan 5, the 2025 China Media Group (CMG) Sports Glory Night aired on China Central Television's CCTV-1 and CCTV-5, celebrating outstanding achievements in Chinese sports over the past year.
During the ceremony, three para-athletes and one sports worker for persons with disabilities were honored for their exceptional performances and significant contributions.

Wang Ziying, the women's singles wheelchair champion at the Wimbledon Championships, and Shang Chunsong, the women's freestyle parkour champion at the Chengdu World Games, represented to receive the "Breakthrough Moment" honor.
Wang Ziying, the women's singles wheelchair champion at the Wimbledon Championships, received the "Breakthrough Moment" honor for achieving a historic breakthrough on the international stage. Together with elite athletes such as Pan Yufei, Yang Hansen, and Shi Yuqi, she demonstrated the relentlessly progressive and transcendent spirit of Chinese sports.

Xu Jingkun, the first Chinese competitor to complete the Vendée Globe, and Yao Miao, the champion of the women's OCC race at UTMB Mont Blanc ultra trail race, represented to receive the "Extreme Moment" honor.
Xu Jingkun, the first Chinese competitor to complete the Vendée Globe — a solo, non-stop, non-assisted round-the world sailing race — was awarded the "Extreme Moment" honor. Standing alongside fellow courageous athletes Yao Miao, Chen Suwei, and He Jing, he redefined human limits in across sailing, ultra-running, channel swimming, and mountaineering, with his fearless spirit of exploration.

Tan Yujiao, a double gold medalist in powerlifting at China's 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, 9th Special Olympics, Gong Lijiao, the champion of women's shot put at the 15th National Games, Chen Aisen, the champion of the diving event at the 15th National Games, Tong Xin, the champion in women's Taijiquan &Taijijian all-round at the 15th National Games, and Shao Yujie, represented to receive the "Shining Star" honor.
Tan Yujiao, a double gold medalist in powerlifting at the China's 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, 9th Special Olympics, took the stage as one of the representatives of the "Shining Star" honor. Together with champions like Gong Lijiao, Chen Aisen, Tong Xin, and Shao Yuqi, she demonstrated the extraordinary grace and talent of Chinese athletes, proving that the sports arena always shines for every dedicated competitor.

Yue Jiankun (L), a recipient of the title of National Advanced Individual in Mass Sports, a teacher at the Kunming School for the Blind and Deaf in Yunnan province, and coach of the Yunnan Provincial Blind Football Team, and Lai Xuanzhi, the principal of Huadong School in Guangzhou province, represented to receive the "Tribute Moment" honor.
The "Tribute Moment" honored grassroots workers supporting the development of Chinese sports. Yue Jiankun, a recipient of the title of National Advanced Individual in Mass Sports, a teacher at the Kunming School for the Blind and Deaf in Yunnan Province, and coach of the Yunnan Provincial Blind Football Team, received this honor. By exploring training methods for blind football, Yue enabled visually impaired children to step onto international stage, highlighting the dedicated grassroots strength behind sports for persons with disabilities. Yue shared this honor with Lai Xuanzhi, also a recipient of the title of National Advanced Individual in Mass Sports and principal of Huadong School in Huadu District, Guangzhou.
