China launched the 11th National Art Performance Festival for People with Disabilities in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on Aug 18.

Co-hosted by the China Disabled Persons' Federation, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the National Radio and Television Administration, the festival was organized by the Hubei Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation and local departments, alongside the China Disabled Persons' Special Art Guidance Center.

During the three-day event, 2,075 performers will present programs in vocal music, instrumental music, dance, and opera.

Launched in 1987 and held every four years, the festival is open to people with disabilities nationwide regardless of age or profession. Over the past three decades, it has grown into a flagship cultural brand in the disability sector and a grand event in the cultural life of people with disabilities. The festival serves as a vital platform to present artistic achievements of people with disabilities, highlight the progress of disability causes, and enrich cultural life of the group. It also plays a key role in inspiring people with disabilities to carry forward China's fine traditional culture, advancing innovation in disability-related art and culture, and fostering a supportive social atmosphere for people with disabilities.
