The MoUs aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of disability under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. Both sides reached consensus on practical collaboration in areas such as social protection, assistive technologies, education and employment, sports and culture, and capacity building.
Cheng said the visit and the signing of the MoUs are concrete actions to implement the strategic consensus between the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Second China-Central Asia Summit. He emphasized that China and Uzbekistan share similar philosophies and a common vision in advancing disability inclusion. He expressed hope that the cooperation would enhance the well-being of people with disabilities, enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples, and contribute to building a China–Central Asia community with a shared future.
Mansurbek Olloyorov, director of Uzbekistan's National Agency for Social Protection, and Mukhtorkhon Tashkhudjaev, president of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan, both expressed the Uzbek side's strong commitment to the partnership. They voiced their intention to draw on China's experience to jointly promote inclusive development and people-to-people exchanges.
During the visit, Cheng also met with Uzbekistan Minister of Sports Adkham Ikramov, to promote collaboration between the country's vocational education institution for people with disabilitiesoration between the country's vocational education institution for peges.khtto support employment initiatives for people with disabilities.
He also visited local institutions providing services for children with disabilities and centers focused on rehabilitation and assistive devices, where he learned about the country's efforts in rehabilitation, education, and assistive technology. In addition, Cheng held discussions with Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yu Jun on strengthening China–Uzbekistan cooperation in the field of disability affairs.
