A cooperation agreement was signed between the China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF) and the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPSL) on July 8.

Xiang Zicheng, vice-chairman of the CDPF, and Ma Huaide, president of the CUPSL, signed the agreement on behalf of each side.

Xiang pointed out that great achievements have been made with regards to disability issues in China, under the guidance of the central Party leadership. On the new journey of achieving the second centenary goal, protecting the rights and interests of the disabled by the rule of law is a key subject that disabled persons' federations at all levels are engaging with.

The CUPSL has been supporting the development of disability work over the years, and has played a role in key projects such as drafting and implementing the Law on the Protection of the Disabled in China, as well as the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Xiang said, adding that he hopes the agreement will spur further and deeper cooperation between the two sides in areas such as talent incubation and scientific research.

Party secretary of the CUPSL, Hu Ming, echoed the need to strengthen cooperation to enhance the cause of persons with disabilities under the rule of law in China and cultivate more talents in this field.
