CDPF vice chairman visits children at China Rehabilitation Research Center for Hearing and Speech Impairment

Commissioned by the Chairperson of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation (CDPF), Zhan Weixing, vice-chairman of the CDPF visited the China Rehabilitation Research Center for Hearing and Speech Impairment to extend wishes to the children at the center on May 31, the day before the International Children’s Day. 

Zhang watched the performance online by the children with hearing impairment and interacted with them. He talked to the parents and teachers to understand the situation, especially challenges in the rehabilitation and education of the children with hearing impairment. 

He fully affirmed the rehabilitation effect and the work done by the center, saying that children are the future of the country and the children with disabilities need more care from the whole society. 

He encouraged the children to proactively receive rehabilitation treatment and inclusive education. He encouraged the teachers to work more selflessly and provide timely and effective rehabilitation services. He also encouraged the parents of children with hearing impairment to build up confidence and proactively cooperate with their children’s rehabilitation to facilitate their healthy development. 

Zhang stressed the importance of timely detection and early intervention for children with hearing impairment, and urged to explore rehabilitation methods suitable for children with disabilities and training for parents so they can play a better role in their children’s development.
