Zhou listened to the briefing on para-athletes' Games preparations and observed their training. He also delivered a speech, saying that quality preparation and participation of the Paralympic Games is a major political mission for the CDPF. It serves as a showcase for the achievements of Chinese para-athletes, as well as a significant opportunity to advance the development of disability undertaking. Sports for the disabled is more than competition and rehabilitation, and it is also a manifestation of unremitting efforts towards self-improvement and life fulfillment of the disabled, he said. The Paralympic Winter Games should be used to mobilize the whole society to achieve higher awareness and greater care for the disabled, he added.

Zhou also called for para-athletes to work all out for their best performance at the Games, and fight for honor and pride for the country.
